A native of Kathmandu Valley, Udipt Singh Chhetry "Bobby" works as a successful Sports Photojournalist at Nepal's No.1 English Daily The Himalayan Times and Nepali Daily Annapurna Post since 2003. He is the first Photojournalist in Nepal to start Sports Photojournalism as a beat.

After completing his bachelor's in commerce and business management from Shanker Dev Campus, Udipt left for Dallas, Texas, U.S.A where he pursued another bachelor's degree in professional photography. Udipt's inspiration for wanting to become a photographer is rooted in the photographs of Nepal he saw in the National Geographic Magazine while studying Computer Information Science in Texas.

He has also won the first prize of Press Photo Contest 2007 in Sports Category. He has travelled many places and made successful sports photo coverage during the first AFC Challenge Cup in Chittagong, Bangladesh in 2006. In the same year he has made very successful sports photo coverage during the 10th South Asian Games (SAG) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Almost all print and TV Medias used his most of the photographs. In 2007 he has got a lifetime opportunity to participate the first ever SAARC Car Rally 2007. He has travelled more than 9000 KM within seven SAARC countries in a month driving TATA Safari SUV. He has participated as a Media team of Nepal.

Currently Udipt is serving NFPJ (National Forum of Photo Journalists) as Vice-President. Also he is affiliated with NSJF (Nepal Sports Journalists Forum).
